Arsenal Make ‘Concrete’ Approach For Bakayoko

Arsenal have made a concrete approach for Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to Le10Sport.

The French outlet claims that the Gunners and Liverpool have both contacted the Ligue 1 side with a view to signing the highly-rated 22-year-old in January.

However, Monaco are determined to keep hold of Bakayoko and have told both clubs they will not consider allowing him to leave this winter.

The midfielder has also reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United, City and Chelsea who are monitoring developments in France.

Jose Mourinho is believed to be a huge admirer of Bakayoko, having following him since his time at Chelsea, and now possibly in search of midfield reinforcements with Morgan Schneiderlin heading to Everton.

The youngster has enjoyed a fine season with Monaco, helping them rise above PSG in the table into second place and just two points behind leaders Nice.

Bakayoko has been a virtual ever present for Monaco this season, scoring two goals in 27 games in all competitions.

He also featured in both Champions League fixtures against Tottenham, as Spurs were knocked out of the competition at the group stage.

The midfielder was voted Player of the Month for December by the club’s fans and is part of a young and vibrant Monaco squad that is fighting for the title.

While any move in winter looks unlikely, there is seemingly huge interest in his services from the Premier League which could potentially spark a bidding war come the summer.
