With Arsene Wenger already under huge pressure from fans to leave at the end of the season, the last thing the Arsenal manager wanted was for his defensive unit to disappear just minutes into their clash with Manchester City.

Shkodran Mustafi came hurtling out from the back in pursuit of a loose ball, leaving a gap wide enough to drive the Gunners supporters' anti-Wenger protest van through.

Kevin De Bruyne duly obliged with a pinpoint pass to Leroy Sane, who outpaced Hector Bellerin and rounded David Ospina to put Pep Guardiola's side ahead.
