Arsenal Target Lacazette Says He Will Leave Lyon This Summer

Arsenal have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette after he claimed he plans to leave his club this summer.

The Gunners have long been linked with a move for the 25-year-old and could be set to reignite their interest again this summer.

Lazaette says the time has come for a change of scenery and will surely be a wanted man as he has already bagged 18 goals for the Ligue 1 side this summer.

“I think it has arrived at the right time, I think this summer will be the moment when we will have to change the air and discover something else,” Lacazette told Canal+.

“Always with the idea of advancing and progressing __football and on a human level.

“Will continue to work again, hoping that there will be some great opportunities coming this summer.”

Arsenal are currently well-stocked for forwards having brought in Lucas Perez last summer and with Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez having both been in great form this season.

The return from a lengthy injury of Danny Welbeck also means Arsene Wenger has a variety of options at his disposal, although that does not mean he will not want to add to his squad.

Lacazette has proven his quality in Ligue 1 and Wenger is believed to be a big admirer of the 25-year-old.

Arsenal have been linked with a number of top strikers in recent months including Alvaro Morata, Karim Benzema, Marco Reus and Andrea Belotti which is little surprise particularly with such uncertainty over Sanchez’s future.

However, Lacazette certainly will not come cheap, Lyon claimed to have turned down huge offers for their star man last summer and after another prolific season his price tag will surely have increased.
