WRITERS: AllArsenal are seeking new writers to join our fast-growing team - see here for more details.

Arsene Wenger opted to field a senior side against an inevitably strong Chelsea team, and despite calling on a host of our big name stars, Jose Mourhino’s men were clinical.

Laurent Koscielny, Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla were the only players to remain in the lineup from the weekend, but the likes of Thomas Vermaelen, Jack Wilshere, Nacho Monreal and Tomas Rosicky added plenty of experience and ability to the Gunners.

But it started poorly for the home side after a dodgy headed back-pass by Carl Jenkinson gifted Cesar Azpilicueta the opener, with Juan Mata haunting Arsenal once again with a tidy finish to seal the deal later in the match.

There were still some positives to take from the loss, Cazorla looked lively as did Wilshere, but now our attention turns to Saturday for this weekend’s massive Premier League fixture at home to Liverpool.

There is a silver lining, we will have more of a chance to focus on the League after our Cup exit. To put it simply our squad is not deep enough to challenge on all fronts, if we had drawn a lower league team then things may have been different, but time to pick ourselves up again after consecutive home defeats.
