Pires Explains Why Sanchez Really Stormed Out Of Training

Robert Pires has sought to explain the training ground incident at Arsenal that led to reports Alexis Sanchez had stormed off after arguments with team-mates and manager Arsene Wenger.

The Chilean was widely reported to have left training early last week which led to his omission from Arsenal’s starting line-up against Liverpool on Saturday.

Arsene Wenger described the reports as “completely false” recently and Pires has now revealed exactly what happened on the training pitch.

“Claims in press there was a fight are false. I was there. There was a bad tackle on Alexis Sanchez, a clash, he left the pitch,” he told beIN Sports.

“Fans have to understand. There was a disciplinary sanction. Nothing serious happened. I was there yesterday too.. no problem”

Pires also revealed that Laurent Koscielny followed Sanchez out of training to talk to the Chilean in his role as captain of the club.

Any bad feeling between Sanchez and Wenger appears to have resolved, with the pair pictured shaking hands at Colney on Friday morning.

The 28-year-old was also restored to the starting line-up for the second leg against Bayern Munich as Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League.

However, the Chilean may have angered fans again after being pictured laughing on the bench after being substituted as the Gunners lost 5-1.
