Cesar Azpilicueta not interested in Real Madrid and Barcelona talk

The ESPN FC team once again debate whether or not Chelsea played boring football, following Ruud Gullit's statements on Jose Mourinho's managerial style.
Chelsea first team manager Jose Mourinho says his decision to return to the club risked his legacy, but his third league title in England means it has been vindicated.
In this week's Premier League action, Chelsea won their first title in five years, while Manchester United's troubles continue to grow.

Cesar Azpilicueta has told RMC not even an offer from Real Madrid or Barcelona would make him consider leaving newly crowned Premier League champions Chelsea.

Azpilicueta, 25, has played a significant role in Chelsea's title win after establishing himself at left-back under manager Jose Mourinho.

The Spain international's performances at Stamford Bridge have raised his profile, but Azpilicueta has no thoughts of leaving London, even if the two biggest clubs of his native country were to come calling, and insisted he will be at Chelsea next season.

"Of course. I am thinking of nothing but that," the full-back, who is under contract until 2019, . "I'm currently playing in the best team in England, I'm not thinking about another team."

While Filipe Luis took Ashley Cole's No. 3 shirt when he joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer, it is Azpilicueta who has replaced the former England international on the pitch.

The former Marseille man has helped Chelsea become the best defensive record in the English top flight, but has also contributed three assists at the opposite end of the pitch where he claims the side have done more than enough to not be labelled "boring."

"We're the second-best attack. That says it all. We also play attacking football. Sometimes, you have to be able to defend when you're under pressure. It's not because of that that you can be called boring," Azpilicueta said. "It has been long. It's difficult to win the league in England. We have worked hard from the start to get where we are now."

Azpilicueta has also had to put in the hours on the training pitch to shine on the left given he is naturally right-footed. He credits Mourinho with helping him develop into one of the Premier League's best full-backs this season.

"You cannot rest with him. Each day is a new challenge. You have to be ready for the fight. He has made me improve, it's important to learn from a coach like him," said the Spain international, who has featured in 28 of Chelsea's 35 Premier League matches.

"It's difficult to play here, there is a lot of competition for places. I have managed to play, that's good, and we have won a trophy. I have to improve my left foot in training. I try to improve every day to become more competitive."
