Next England manager betting odds: Robbie Savage's 3 reasons why he's backing Arsene Wenger at 5/1

Robbie Savage is tipping Arsene Wenger to be the next permanent England manager.

Mirror columnist Robbie has given his predictions in a series of exclusive videos, in association with William Hill.

And this week he's told why he believes the Arsenal boss - currently 5/1 with the bookies - would be the ideal choice for the under-fire FA.

Former Leicester City star Robbie believes Wenger is the man for three reasons. He explained: "Arsene Wenger's contract is up in the summer and I think he'd make an absolutely brilliant England manager.

"He'd have the respect of the players, he's a good guy and he's won trophies. I think England would suit Arsene Wenger perfectly."

Robbie believes Wenger switching to manage England would ease his Emirates exit. He added: "His departure from Arsenal would be nice, friendly and 'well done Arsene Wenger.'

"If he doesn't win a trophy this year it could end a bit bitter..."

Wenger himself today appeared to throw his hat into the ring for the top job.

When asked about the vacant position and the prospect of managing the national team, he conceded: "Why not? My priority is to do well here though. This has always been my club, but one day if I am free, why not, but at the moment I was focused on my job.”
