Arsenal have told Juventus they should forget trying to sign Alexis Sanchez after the Serie A champions were linked with a move for the Chile international.
Reports earlier today claimed that Juve were planning a swap deal involving Miralem Pjanic in the summer with the Turin side keen to bring Sanchez to Italy.
The club are reportedly willing to offer Arsenal £60m for Sanchez, plus Pjanic, and will give the 28-year-old a huge contract as they eye a forward line of Sanchez, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.
However, The Mirror now claim that Arsenal have told Juventus that their star man is not for sale and they are confident they can keep him at the Emirates.
The report states that Arsenal have offered Sanchez £180,000-per-week to stay at the club and will refuse to sell him even though he has entered the last 18 months of his current deal.
Sanchez is believed to want in excess of £250,000-per-week to extend his current deal and has previously stated that his contract situation is “down to Arsenal”.
However, the Chilean has also insisted he is happy in London recently and manager Wenger has insisted the club are confident they can agree a deal that will keep him at the club.
Free-spending Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Sanchez while there is also believed to be interest from China and Chelsea.
Speculation surrounding Sanchez’s future seems to have increasing in recent weeks, possibly due to his on-field antics where he has looked increasingly frustrated with his club and team-mates.
The near-constant rumours concerning Sanchez’s future is surely a distraction the club can do without, although so far at least, it does not appear to be affecting the forward’s form.
