Everton Make Wilshere Top Summer Target

Everton have made Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere their top summer transfer target, according to The Mirror.

The England international is currently enjoying a productive loan spell at Bournemouth which has increased speculation over his future.

Wilshere has just 18 months left on his current deal with reports claiming he fears for his future, having not been offered a new deal yet, with Manchester City believed to be keen.

However, conflicting reports have claimed that Arsenal will look to extend his current contract this January and are keen for him to commit his future to the club.

The Mirror now claim that Everton want to bring him to Goodison Park at the end of the season with Ronald Koeman keen to overhaul his midfield.

The Dutchman is believed to be a big fan of Wilshere and will be able to offer him big wages thanks to investment from major shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

Everton are hoping to land Morgan Schneidelin from Manchester United in January and want Wilshere in alongside the Frenchman to provide the creativity.

Wilshere has been able to prove both his form and fitness at Bournemouth this season which is believed to have impressed Arsenal who will continue to monitor his progress.

The Gunners will then make a decision on the 25-year-old’s future in the coming months although Wenger’s most recent comments suggest he is keen for him to stay.

Speaking ahead of the clash with Preston, the Arsenal boss admitted he regretted allowing Wilshere to leave on loan, particularly with Francis Coquelin now injured and Mohamed Elneny on international duty.
