AS Monaco boss has yet another unneccessary dig at Arsenal

We have long been out of the Champions League, and have already put it to the back of our minds for the remainder of the season. AS Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim has felt the need to take yet another dig at us however, criticising us ahead of their clash with Juventus, as reported by the .

Jardim had previously claimed Arsene Wenger refused to shake his hand following the Last 16 away leg, but our manager totally refuted the claims (via the ).

The Ligue 1 outfit lost 1-0 in Turin on Tuesday night, which pleased us considering these quotes pre-game…

“Juventus are a better team than Arsenal. They are in the quarter-final of the Champions League and deserve to be there,” the Monaco boss is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

“Juve are a better team, it’s not complicated. They are top of their league.”

It was a ridiculous statement by the Portuguese manager, and was surely just an attempt at mind games.

How he can even suggest that things are that simple is bizarre, and if he is serious it shows he knows very little about the footballing world. To suggest that being top of your respective league makes you the better team is laughable, as by that logic PSV Eindhoven (Eredivisie’s top team) are superior to Real Madrid (La Liga’s second placed side).

Regardless, we should remain focused on our own season, and continue concentrating on the Premier League and the FA Cup.
