EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal prepare £24 million move for Barcelona star Pedro

The Gunners’ shortcomings were brutally exposed by Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as Jose Mourinho’s team brought Arsenal’s winning run to a halt with an efficiently ground out a goalless draw that left them on the brink of the title.

Arsene Wenger’s team were unable to break down Chelsea’s ruthlessly well organised defensive block and the Arsenal manager is looking to add more creativity and pace to his attack this summer.

Pedro is set to leave the Nou Camp after finding his place in Luis Enrique’s side too often taken by Luis Suarez this season and Arsenal are first in the queue, although both Manchester United, Liverpool and Inter Milan are all also keen.

Arsenal enquired about Pedro last year but are still keen on the Spanish international and are likely to make the first move once the season is finished.

Their need for a pacey wide man will become even more pressing should the disaffected Theo Walcott’s contract negotiations stall, and Liverpool, long time fans of the England player, finally make their move.

Pedro, 27, has scored 10 goals this season, and Wenger would like to re-unite him with Chilean Alexis Sanchez, who joined from Barca last summer and has been one of the successes of the season at the Emirates.
