Liverpool's Martin Skrtel rules out Napoli and Wolfsburg moves

Liverpool vice-captain Jordan Henderson is set to sign a new five-year deal to stay at Anfield.

Martin Skrtel has said he is not leaving Liverpool as his agent announced that the defender is close to finalising a new contract.

Skrtel is one of a number of players to have been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer.

Wolfsburg and Napoli are both reported to be interested in the player, who joined the Reds from Zenit St Petersburg in January 2008.

Martin Skrtel has been linked with Wolfsburg and Napoli.

However, the Slovakia international, who has 14 months to run on the contract he signed in 2012, said he has no intention of moving -- while his agent Karol Csonto insists that a new Reds contract will be signed soon.

Skrtel, who has been in discussions over a new deal since January, said in the : "I am not leaving anywhere. Not to Wolfsburg nor to Naples."

He admitted in the summer 2013 that he had considered leaving Anfield after losing his place to Jamie Carragher, but , and the 30-year-old subsequently regained form to become a key part of Liverpool's defence.

Philippe Coutinho repeated his fourth-round FA Cup heroics at Bolton with the match-winner on Wednesday at Blackburn.

Csonto, meanwhile, said that there had been no approach from Wolfsburg for the centre-back.

The agent said: "The only offer which is lying on Martin Skrtel's table right now is the extension of his contract from Liverpool. We have been working on the details, and we will be finalising it soon.

"It is not true that he has some offer from the German club. I don't know anything even about their interest."
