BBC pundit claims Arsenal won’t make Champions League

Phil Neville has made a ridiculous claim regarding the race for the top four, predicting not only that Man United will come second, but that Arsenal will drop out of the top four, as reported by the .

The former Manchester United star turned pundit has been widely criticised since beginning his career with the media, and is unlikely to find many people agreeing with him this time around either.

“For me Chelsea are going to win the league. I think they’ll win it with three or four games to spare,” he said.

“I’m going for an outside bet of Manchester United finishing second and then I’m for City and Liverpool.”

While unlikely, it’s not out of the question to suggest that United might beat us (and Manchester City) to second. They are currently just two points behind the Premier League champions, and while the quality of their football has been poor this season, they have still been getting results.

But it seems extremely farfetched to suggest that Liverpool will pip us to the final Champions League spot, especially after their loss against Manchester United last game week.

It would be the first time we would miss out on Champions League football under Arsene Wenger, an unthinkable act.

We play host to the Merseyside club this weekend, and will be confident of sending them home with nothing. Even if we lose however, we will still be able to boast a three point lead over Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Liverpool have a tricky run of games heading into the tail end of the season, so it’s difficult to see them making up the ground now.
