Bad news for Arsenal as star Liverpool forwards step up recovery

Daniel Sturridge has been absent for most of the season through injury, but unfortunately for us could make a return for Liverpool’s trip to the Emirates, according to the .

Sturridge withdrew from international duty with England due to injury, despite only just returning to action following a lengthy layoff at Anfield.

Despite his absences this season, he is still arguably Liverpool’s best striker when fit. Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini, and Rickie Lambert have failed to impress this season, and Merseyside manager Brendan Rodgers has largely relied on young Raheem Sterling to play as a false nine.

Sterling is also dealing with an injury of his own, but the Mirror claims he will be available to replace Sturridge if the 25-year-old fails to recover. The pacey versatile forward will miss tonight’s national match against Italy, and will have an injection for his toe injury.

We should expect nothing less than a win this weekend, as Liverpool will be without a number of key players. Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard will both be suspended, meaning the backbone of their team will suffer.

This game could have huge ramifications on the top four come the end of the season, so it’s hugely important that we send Liverpool back to Merseyside with nothing.
