Arsenal new boy faces time out with thigh injury

Arsenal new boy Krystian Bielik appears to be well on his way to becoming a true Gunner already, with the Polish youngster suffering an injury during the Under-21’s 1-0 loss against Reading this past Monday.

The 17-year-old was signed from Legia Warsaw in the January transfer window, and was tipped for success at the Emirates. He is yet to feature for the senior team however, and appears unlikely to do so until at least the 2015/16 season.

He has been a regular for the Under-21 side though, and played a part once again against Reading. He didn’t even complete an hour however, and was withdrawn with in injury shortly into the second half.

Welcome to Arsenal (medical room) Bielik.

It looked to be a thigh injury, judging by the way he was gripping his leg, although nothing has been confirmed as of yet. It would be a real shame to see him sidelined for any length of time, as he was starting to impress for the Under-21s. This was arguably his best performance in an Arsenal shirt, and he looked excellent for the 54 minutes he was on the field.

He is definitely starting to look like a star of the future, so let’s hope he isn’t another injury prone Arsenal star in the making.

Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby also featured, with both players impressing despite the disappointing result.
