Arsene Wenger rules out Arsenal move for Paulo Dybala

Arsene Wenger has denied rumours that Arsenal are attempting to sign highly rated Palermo striker Paulo Dybala.

:

Mauro Zamparini, president of the Serie A side, claimed earlier this week that we had supposedly made a move for the 21-year-old Argentine and already submitted an offer.

“Juventus and Arsenal have already made offers for the boy,” he told Radio Marte Sport, reported in the .

However, in his pre-Liverpool press conference, Arsene Wenger categorically denied such a bid for the striker, as tweeted by Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.

Wenger on Zamparinj claiming Dybala interest: “Ask him to show you the offer… [no interest] not at all.”

Despite his insistence Arsenal have no interest in Dybala, the Evening Standard claims that Wenger has been sending scouts to watch the forward – who has scored 12 goals in 27 games this season – for several weeks.

Although, the report goes on to say those watching Dybala remain unconvinced he warrants the likely €40 million bid needed to release him from Palermo’s clutches, even if he is described as ‘the new Sergio Aguero’.

It’s difficult to see just where the likes of Dybala would fit in the Arsenal squad considering our forward line is already pretty packed out and we will likely have the duo of Chuba Akpom and Serge Gnabry joining the first-team on a more permanent basis from next season.

The only way he could be integrated into first-team proceedings, in order to justify his gargantuan price-tag and likely high wages, is by replacing someone in the squad.
