Chelsea duo Cesc Fabregas & Nemanja Matic could miss Arsenal trip

Arsenal play host to Chelsea later this month, in a game that could have huge ramifications on the Premier League’s final standings.

They could potentially be without both Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas however, who are both just one yellow card away from a two match ban, as evidenced on The FA’s .

This weekend is the last set of fixtures in which the rule applies, so their clash with Queens Park Rangers could have a serious impact on their trip to the Emirates.

Chelsea have been hugely reliant on Matic this season, and their performances without the giant Serbian have proven just how important he has become. They are far more exposed when the dominant defensive midfielder is not in the side, so it would be great news if he were to miss out.

Former Gunner Fabregas has had less of an impact in the second half of the season, with his goals and assists severely tailing off since the Christmas period. It would still be a bonus if he were to be banned for the game however, as he is more than capable of swinging a match in Chelsea’s favour.

Hopefully a resurgent QPR will cause Jose Mourinho’s side some problems, and rile them up a bit in the process.
