‘I’m speaking to Arsenal, but I want £29m,’ claims club president of exciting forward

Arsenal will have to move quickly if we wish to see Palermo forward Paulo Dybala plying his trade at the Emirates next season.

According to the , the Serie A’s side’s president Mauro Zamparini has confirmed that he is involved in discussions with our club, but also revealed that Italian league leaders Juventus are now the favourites to land the highly-rated 21-year-old. The Gunners will therefore have to confirm their interest with a bid sooner rather than later, as the Old Lady hope to complete a deal within a week.

“Right Juve are in pole position. They want to close the deal in a week,” Zamparini said.

“But I expect, because of course I want the best possible deals, that Dybala will be auctioned

“The Bianconeri have offered me €35 million (£25million) , but I want €40million (£29million) or more. I’m also dealing with Arsenal.”

After promotion from Serie B last season, the Argentinian forward has helped guide the club to a probable safe mid-table finish. He is currently one of the hottest properties in the Italian top flight as a result. His total of thirteen league goals places him sixth in the division’s top scorers, only behind some of the country’s most established stars like Carlos Tevez and Mauro Icardi.

Dybala has exceptionally quick feet, is pacy, and possesses clever attacking movement. His technical skills make him both a creator and a scorer, although we do already have a number of players who perform best just off a centre-forward.

Should we really consider spending almost £30m on a youngster who plies his trade in a position in which we’re already well endowed…? Perhaps – but it’s a serious risk nonetheless.
