Brendan Rodgers has categorically insisted that Raheem Sterling will remain at Liverpool this summer and will not be sold.
:
His comments come in the wake of an interview the 20-year-old Sterling gave to the where he revealed he was flattered by the reported interested of Arsenal and attempted to justify why he was refusing to sign a new Liverpool contract.
“[Raheem] is not going anywhere this summer,” said Rodgers according to Times journalist Tony Barrett.

And directly addressing the suggestion that Sterling could choose Arsenal over Liverpool in his quest to win trophies, the reports that Rodgers said:
“Arsenal is a great club, but this is Liverpool. For Raheem to be playing here is an honour.
“He has got two and a half years left on his contract and is going nowhere this summer.
“As a club we’ve shown that [money doesn’t come into it]. If the club doesn’t want to sell, it won’t sell.”
Whether the Liverpool manager’s insistence Sterling will not leave the club bears out in the summer is yet to be seen, but still it is another interesting twist to a potential transfer saga.
Earlier in the day, Arsene Wenger had refused to be drawn on whether Arsenal were interested in signing the England international, that Sterling was a ‘top player’ but that now was not the time to talk about transfer dealings.
