Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Liverpool duo Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge should be fit to face Arsenal on Saturday.
:
Both players were injured in the Merseyside club’s last Premier League outing against Manchester United.
Sturridge’s recovery is rather miraculous after Roy Hodgson claimed during the international break that the striker would be out for a month with a hip injury, according to the .
However, the newspaper says the 25-year-old is prepared to play through the pain barrier to give Liverpool the best chance of securing a top-four finish and Champions League football next season.
Adam Lallana was another who limped off against the Red Devils after picking up a groin injury, but he too will feature.
It’s likely to be a feisty game against Rodgers’ side with both teams locked in a battle for the Champions League places.
Liverpool will no doubt be looking to improve on their display against Manchester United and thrust themselves back into the top-four hunt.
“Our possession wasn’t good enough in the last game,” said Rodgers according to the .
“We were never in position to receive the ball and to press the ball. We need to be technically better.
“We will go there tactically very clear. We need to get something from the game.”
“We respect Arsenal but they know we can hurt them.”
If Arsenal win it will open up a nine point gap over Liverpool and could put the final nail in the coffin of their Champions League efforts.
But if the Reds can become just the second side to take three-points at the Emirates in the Premier League this season, they will be just three points behind us in third.
