Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil finally produced a show-stopping performance in a big game, following our remarkable win against Liverpool yesterday.
Criticism has been rife of our record signing since he arrived on these shores but the opinion on Ozil has been split among the fan-base.
However, his performance yesterday reminded many of his majestic qualities and his free-kick was of sublime technique, bending the ball into the top corner and deceiving Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet in the process.
After yesterday’s win, an interesting statistic emerged: that we are yet to lose a league game at home in which Ozil has featured since his club record move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013.
The deal was seen a shift in transformation for the club, signifying our intent on buying superstar players with the financial burden of the stadium now lifted.
