Javier Pastore has declared he is most likely to remain at Paris Saint-Germain despite a delay in signing a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions.
With the five-year deal he penned upon arriving at the Parc des Princes from Palermo in 2011 due to expire next year, Pastore, 25, has been with a number of European clubs.
The Argentina international was initially a disappointment after being the first major signing made by PSG's owners, Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), but has gradually settled into life in Ligue 1, and has played some of his best football in the French club's colours this season.
Though a number of teammates have already been given longer deals, Pastore is still waiting for PSG to prolong his stay in the French capital.
However, after featuring in 26 of his club's 30 league games to date, he told Sky Sports he is confident he will be staying put.
"I still have a year left on my contract with Paris Saint-Germain. I'm calm, I have to finish my season in France. We'll see after that, but I think I will certainly stay here," , who revealed he frequently talks to Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini, the man who signed him for Palermo.
"I still speak with Sabatini. He brought me to Italy, I have a lot of esteem for him."
