Arsenal fans en route to Burnley turned back to London after train hits a COW

Arsenal fans en route to Burnley have been turned back to London after a train hit a cow causing chaos on the rail network.

One fan took to Twitter to say the incident was causing him to miss his first Gunners game in almost 15 years.

Arsene Wenger takes his side to Turf Moor as he celebrates 20 years in charge of Arsenal.

But the away following looks set to be smaller than initially expected due to the incident on the tracks.

Wenger is celebrating 20 years in charge...
...but there looks like being fewer Arsenal fans than first anticipated

Gunners fan Tim Stillman tweeted: "Our train's turning back to London. First game I'm missing in nearly 15 years and it's cos a train hit a cow.

Akhil Vyas added: "Train hits a cow so many Arsenal fans are affected and will probably miss today's game. Gutted for each and everyone one of them."

One supporter travelling by road to Burnley was collecting a ticket from another fan who was travelling by rail, and used the power of Twitter to find another spare.

Terry Shaw said: "Ticket is sorted. Than you Arsenal Twitter yet again! Guy I was getting ticket off been caught up in #TrainCow gate."

Of course the one time I need to be somewhere my train's delayed because it hit a cow. How silly of me not to have anticipated so. ☠
