Lucas Perez has been given the nod over Olivier Giroud to lead the line for Arsenal in the EFL Cup tie with Reading .
Arsene Wenger has opted for summer signing Perez having made wholesale changes to the side that drew with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Perez will be looking to add to his two goals in this competition having hit a brace against Nottingham Forest in the last round.
It was expected that Giroud would make his return to the side following a toe injury, but he will have to be content with a place on the bench as Arsenal bid to reach the quarter-finals.
There's a welcome return for full back Carl Jenkinson too, having last appeared for Arsenal in May 2014.
The England Under-21 star has been recovering to full fitness after his 2-year loan spell to West Ham United was cut short by a serious knee injury.
Mohammed Elneny and Alex Iwobi are the only players to keep their place as youngsters Rob Holding, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are all handed starts.
