Arsenal cruised to the last eight of the EFL Cup with a much-changed XI at the Emirates on Tuesday night .
In previous games with Reading, there have been goals galore - notably in 2012's 7-5 victory to the Gunners in this same competition.
This time around, it was much more comfortable for Arsene Wenger's men - as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain added some end product to his game with two goals, one in either half, separating the sides.
Reading had their moments, but were unable to trouble Arsenal's makeshift defence as Wenger gave runouts to plenty of his kids.
Here's how they rated at the Emirates tonight:
In pictures - Arsenal 2-0 Reading:
Arsenal
Emiliano Martinez 7
Dealt with everything thrown at him, although will have busier nights between the sticks.
Carl Jenkinson 7
Making his first Gunners appearance in 898 days, nearly marked it with a dream goal early on. Coped well with the Reading counter and covered plenty of ground.
Gabriel 6
Made a couple of fouls, but generally dealt well with the quick running of Harriott and the aerial threat of Kermorgant.
Rob Holding 6
Assured on the ball and in the tackle, made a great sliding tackle in the first half to end a Reading counter attack.
Kieran Gibbs 7
Arsenal's captain for the night, put in a tidy display. Will need to come through tougher tests if he's to get back into Arsene Wenger's first XI.
Mohamed Elneny 6
Relatively quiet in the middle of the park, but didn't have a great deal to do, with the Gunners enjoying the majority of the play.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles 7
An impressive run-out for the youngster who was comfortable dictating play in the middle of the park
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 8 (MOTM)
A great individual performance by the right winger who is rediscovering his best form after a difficult start to the season. Finally adding goals to his game?
Jeff Reine-Adelaide 6
A decent runout for the Arsenal prospect, who tested the Reading defence at every opportunity and combined well with Lucas and Oxlade-Chamberlain on several occasions.
Alex Iwobi 7
A decent night for the Arsenal playmaker who continues to create chances for his team-mates with great passing and vision.
Lucas Perez 6
Disappointing for the Arsenal No.9 who spurned a great chance to score by opting to pass. Good in the build-up with some fine distribution. But looks like he's not ready mentally to lead the line for the Gunners.
Subs
Giroud (on for Reine-Adelaide, 66 mins) 6 - Immediately got involved after his introduction with 25 minutes left. Knows he has a fight on his hands to get back in Wenger's plans

Zelalem (on for Oxlade-Chamberlain, 80 mins) 5
