Red Bull Leipzig starlet Naby Keita has revealed he turned down a move to Arsenal this summer.

The 21-year-old midfielder had interest from all over Europe during the transfer window but chose a switch to the Bundesliga big spenders.

"Arsenal, Manchester City and Southampton were all interested in signing me and Liverpool as well, although I did not speak with their coach," he told SportNet.

"I did not want to join a big Champions League club right away. It is too early for that. I want to prove myself in the Bundesliga first now."

The Gunners are reportedly interested in bringing Lucas Kayombo to England.

The youngster is currently playing for FC Solitaries, where he as attracted serious attention from some top goalkeepers with his performances.

He was allegedly named the best goalkeeper at both the Panama Cup and Danone Cup, catching the eye of Paris Saint-Germain in the process.

Arsenal are weighing up a move for £30million-rated Roma defender Kostas Manolas, according to Calciomercato.

The Gunners are reportedly looking to take advantage of the Greek star's current contract situation.

Manolas is contracted to the Serie A club until the summer of 2019 but has allegedly snubbed a new deal which has alerted some of Europe's top clubs.

Arsenal were linked with Manolas in the summer before they signed Shkodran Mustafi in his position, but with Per Mertesacker still injured and Gabriel not fancied, they could swoop again.

Arsenal are hopeful that Arsene Wenger will stay on as manager beyond this season, but have admitted that there are no immediate plans to open contract talks, writes Mirror Football's Joe Mewis.

The Frenchman's current deal expires at the end of this season, but the club want him to extend his 20-year spell in north London.

The matter of Wenger's contract was raised during the club's AGM on Monday, with Gunners chairman Sir Chips Keswick expressing his desire to secure the manager's future.
