Thierry Henry sends warning to Arsenal fans: Be careful what you wish for! Arsenal's injury list

THIERRY HENRY has warned Arsenal fans to be careful what they wish for when calling for change at the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger is currently celebrating his 20th year with the Gunners and has started his milestone campaign strongly.

Arsenal sit second in the Premier League table, level on points with Manchester City, and are also through to the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.

Last season Wenger came in for criticism from fans after Arsenal saw their title challenge slip away in the second half of the campaign as Leicester stormed to glory.

Arsenal fans call for change at the Emirates last season

Fans actively voiced their opinions with banners at the Emirates calling for the club to sack him.

But Henry, the club's all-time record goalscorer, believes it would be a risk to replace the experienced Frenchman.

“Be careful what you wish for because when he's not going to be around people are going to realise what he was doing at the time,” Henry told the London Evening Standard.

“It looks like finally things are going the right way… It would be great if in his 20th season in charge he can win the title. But are they going to do it? The competition is massive.”

Arsene Wenger has been linked with the England job

Wenger has been linked with the England job ever since Sam Allardyce was sacked last month.

But Henry doesn't believe Wenger would suit international football as it involves a lack of day-to-day football.

“You can never say never, but I don't see it happening,“ Henry said.

"I said recently that Arsene likes being on the pitch on a daily basis, and that's not the case when you coach a national team.”
