Cazorla, Giroud & Midfielder Injury Update Ahead Of Arsenal’s EFL Cup Tie

Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest injury updates regarding Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey ahead of Arsenal’s EFL Cup tie against Reading.

The Frenchman stated there are no fresh injuries but Santi Cazorla, who did train with the team over the weekend, will not be included in the match on Tuesday.

“Cazorla will not be available,” said Wenger in the pre-match press conference as reported by Arsenal’s official website.

“But it looked after the game that apart from some tired legs and disappointed minds, we had nothing else to declare.”

Similarly, Aaron Ramsey who gave a positive injury update via Instagram hasn’t been declared fit enough to return to first-team action as of yet.

However, the good news is that Olivier Giroud who has missed the majority of the season will take part in the match.

“I think Olivier will be included,” Wenger added.

“But for Aaron it is too early although he is back in full training now.”

While the Gunners remain anxious to see their two star midfielders return, the possibility of seeing Giroud upfront once again is relieving news. Especially after struggling to score goals against a team that is fighting to evade relegation zone in the Premier League, a plan B is welcomed.

It is therefore hoped the striker gets the chance to regain some match fitness and boost his confidence with a goal or two to ensure Arsenal’s progression in the league Cup.
