Theo Walcott feels Ludogorets will not be looking forward to Tuesday night’s trip to the Emirates in the Champions League but has warned Arsenal against complacency.
The Gunners are on a six-match unbeaten run and know if they can take six points from the two games against the Bulgarian minnows they will be on the brink of the knockout stages.
However, Walcott says his side must learn from past struggles in the Champions League although he is aware Arsene Wenger’s side will be expected to win comfortably on Tuesday.
“There are six points, we know that but I’ll be digging into the players and letting them know that there are no givens in __football these days,” he told the Evening Standard.
“We struggled against Olympiacos before at home. You would hope the way we are playing, the goals we’ve scored this season already… I don’t think they’ll look forward to playing us, that’s for sure.
“I’m really looking forward to Wednesday. I don’t know what it’s going to be like but it’s a fixture that we should win. We know we should win that and we’ve got to make sure we’re ready for it. We can’t be too complacent because that’s really important now.”
Ludogorets were beaten 3-1 by PSG last time out but have picked up a point away from home in their opening fixture at Basel.
This is only the second time in their history that they have qualified for the group stages and on current form anything other than a comfortable win for the Gunners will feel like a disappointment.
