Alaba Admits He Grew Up Supporting Arsenal

Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has admitted he grew up supporting Arsenal and has revealed how much he enjoys playing __football in London.

The Austria international will come up against the Gunners in February after the two teams were paired together again in the Champions League round of 16.

Alaba, who has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, says he is looking forward to taking on Arsene Wenger’s side.

“For me, games against Arsenal are always beautiful because in my childhood they were my favourite team,” he told Bild.

“Playing in London is also fantastic – almost as good as the Allianz Arena.”

Recent reports have claimed that Alaba would favour a move to Arsenal over Manchester United should he quit the German giants.

Alaba joined Bayern in 2008 and has progressed through the youth ranks to the first team, winning five league titles and the Champions League along the way.

However, the 24-year-old refused to rule out a move away from Bayern when asked about his future.

“I feel very, very good here and have grown up here since 2008, but I am not one who predicts so far ahead,” he said when asked about a potential departure from the Allianz Arena.

Alaba is a hugely talented player and he would certainly be welcomed at Arsenal should he decide to leave Bayern Munich and head to the club he followed as a boy.
