The Gunners stretched their lead at the summit of the Premiership on Saturday to seven points with many of England’s big guns playing the following day, and they did so in spectacular fashion.

Aaron Ramsey’s well taken brace with Flamini’s emphatic finish will hog the headlines but again Arsene Wenger has his faith repaid in Wojciech Szczesny with the Poland ‘keeper providing some excellent reaction saves for Arsenal’s third consecutive clean sheet.

Mesut Ozil provided both of Arsenal’s goals during his time on the pitch, with the German proving his ability with two sumptuous balls to tee up Ramsey and Flamini. The midfielder oozed class on Saturday and silenced recent critics with a fine display.

Another special mention must go to Mikel Arteta who was immense. A very sturdy pivot in front of the defence, remaining on his feet at all times and commanded the midfield. Certainly justified his selection over Flamini and continues to flourish for the Gunners.

But the day belonged to Aaron Ramsey who has equalled the club record for most Premier League goals scored by a Welshman, another starring performance from the 22-year-old.
