Bournemouth stood their ground against Tottenham in the Premier League as they earned themselves a goalless draw but it was Jack Wilshere who stole the headlines.
On-loan Arsenal midfielder Wilshere completed a full 90-minutes after a span of two years as he represented the Cherries against Spurs.
The last time the 24-year-old played an entire match was back in 2014 when he played as a Gunner against Manchester City in September.
Now after slowly progressing and earning a place in Eddie Howe’s team he was allowed the full 90-minutes against Spurs suggesting he is ready play more regularly.
Speaking post-match, Wilshere exclaimed his happiness over making progress under Howe as his side kept Spurs at bay earning themselves a well-deserved point.
“I feel better and better each week,” claimed the midfielder, according to Sky Sports.
“The manager has been great to me, easing me in slowly. I am getting fitter and contributing more to the team.”
Although the England international failed to make an impact due to the influence of Spurs defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama, twitter did find entertainment in the fact that Wilshere stayed on the pitch for the entire course of the match.
