Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has admitted he expected more of a 'starring role' after signing for the Gunners.
The 28-year-old has made only one start in the Premier League plus a further substitute appearance totalling just 64 minutes of action.
He played the full 90 minutes as Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup, scoring a brace at the City Ground.
Perez made his first European appearance for Arsene Wenger's side in midweek, playing 28 minutes off the bench in the 6-0 win over Ludogorets, and has conceded he thought he would have had more first-team opporunities.
Speaking to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Perez: said: "When I first arrived here I expected to have more of a starring role.
"The teammates that are playing in my position are doing a great job. We have won seven games in a row and, at the end of the day, the coach wants what is best for the team.
"I had hoped to have more playing time, but what I have to do now is make the most of the opportunities I get."
