Arsenal Target ‘Will Definitely’ Leave This Summer

Julian Draxler’s agent says the midfielder “will definitely” leave Wolfsburg this summer with the highly-rated Germany international expected to be in demand.

Arsenal are just one of several clubs to have been linked with the 23-year-old who came close to a move to Paris Saint-Germain last summer, according to his agent Fabio Parisi.

Italian champions Juventus were also heavily linked with the Germany international prior to his move from Schalke to Wolfsburg but his agent says they could reignite their interest at the end of the season.

“Max Allegri had spoken to Draxler, they were in sync and there was an immediate rapport between them,’ Parisi told Tuttosport.

“Wolfsburg have strong owners, but unfortunately for the German fans, everyone wants to leave there. Over the summer Draxler was on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain, who had offered nearly €65m (£59m).

“He will definitely leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season. He would’ve gladly run to join Juve and is the ideal trequartista for Allegri.

“I repeat: Draxler will leave, but whether or not Juventus are interested again is another matter. I think the Bianconeri can still spend big money, as their revenue is close to that of the top European clubs.

“The very real profit made on Paul Pogba will have an effect on their balance sheets for the next few years, allowing Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici to make more investments.”

Draxler only joined Wolfsburg in 2015 but if his agent’s comments are to be believed it would seem as if he will be on the move again in the summer.

Whether Arsenal will reignite their interest remains to be seen but if he is available he will not come cheap and competition from PSG and Juventus may only serve to drive his price up even further.
