Is This Arsenal’s Best Team In Your 20 Years Arsene?’ – See How Wenger Responded

Arsene Wenger was coy when asked just how good the current Arsenal team is after they destroyed Ludogorets 6-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Gunners made it seven wins in a row in all competitions with a stunning display at the Emirates as they romped to victory.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring with a sumptuous chip before Theo Walcott grabbed his eighth goal of the season and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 3-0.

Mesut Ozil then scored a hat-trick as Arsenal hit the Bulgarian minnows for six to top Group A ahead of PSG who beat Basel 3-0 in the other game in the group.

Speaking after the game Wenger was quick to praise his team but also played it a little cool, aware there are bigger tests to come this season.

“Our confidence is stronger with every win but we have to keep the vigilance as well, and the urgency to bring that into the next game,” he told BT Sport.

“Let’s not be too quick on the verdict. We have a strong squad and a strong spirit, but you have to take care of it and keep your feet on the ground.

“The only way to win something big is to focus on the next one and work on humility. It’s difficult not be satisfied. We scored a lot of goals and kept a clean sheet but we must stay focused”

Arsenal’s victory leaves them well placed not just to reach the knockout stages but to top the group ahead of the return against Ludogorets on November 1.

Before then Arsenal face Middlesbrough and Sunderland in the Premier League and Reading in the fourth round of the EFL Cup and on current form, it is difficult to see past them continuing their winning run.
