Arsenal’s Calum Chambers reveals the qualities behind Newcastle win – we’re going to need more of it

Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has revealed that the togetherness the team showed in the second half against Newcastle United was crucial for the three points.

If ever there was a game which defined the cliche ‘a game of two halves’, this was it as we failed to kill off a game which was completely one sided in the first half.

Newcastle woke up after the interval and an early goal livened up St James’s Park, a backs to the wall performance from Arsene Wenger’s men was subsequently needed.

“It was very pleasing,” Chambers told .

“It’s always hard to come to Newcastle so we’re really pleased to get the result.

“I thought we put a lot of effort in. There was a lot of togetherness and every one of us put 100 per cent in to see through the victory.”

Wenger will be letting the players know that in the run-in, it is all about getting results and our players must become specialist in grinding out results.

With five of our remaining eight games at home, one would imagine that we may only have to show those battling qualities on only three more occasions as our home form has been impeccable.

Trips to Burnley, Hull City and Man United remain in the Premier League.
