‘Great comeback from Jack Wilshere’ – Twitter responds to the Arsenal midfielder’s return to first team action

Many foreign players struggle to adapt to the rigours of the English game, often failing miserably and being forced to return home with their tails between their legs.

Sanchez is not the only oversees import to hit the ground running however, and the Daily Mail have released a comparison to the other great attackers.

Here is the rating they have given to Alexis Sanchez, followed by 11 other top Premier League debutantes:

Alexis Sanchez Arsenal

12) Alexis Sanchez – 8.0

Goals: 16

Assists: 8

Sanchez has been excellent this season, and was a shining light in the early stages of the campaign when the rest of the team were struggling.

His form dipped slightly after Christmas, but he has looked back to his best recently – with his brace against Hull City firing us to a 3-1 win.

Robin van Persie Arsenal

11) Robin van Persie – 5.5

Goals: 5

Assists: 0

Van Persie didn’t enjoy the best debut season, although his nominal transfer fee meant little was expected of him.

He struggled for game time for the majority of the season, and found it difficult to settle in England.

The Mail have given him a rating of just 5.5, and even that is arguably somewhat generous.
