Manchester City Prepare £50m Raid For Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez is now a wanted man by Manchester City as contract negotiations with Arsenal continue to stall.

The Gunners have been trying to tie Sanchez down to a new contract since August but the failure to do so has alerted clubs like Manchester City and Juventus.

According to the Mirror, City could bid as high as £50 million to sign the Chile international who will enter his last year at the Emirates next season.

Arsene Wenger and the club have failed to meet the demands of their star player so far who has reportedly asked for a substantial increase in his current salary of £130,000-a-week.

And while the Gunners are still hopeful of getting a contract extension, failure to do so might mean Arsenal have to sell the Chilean in order to avoid a free transfer in 2018.

However, signing the Arsenal man wouldn’t be an easy task for the Manchester outfit as they will face stiff competition from Juventus as the Mirror reports.

The 27-year-old is currently at the forefront of Arsenal’s attacking prowess and it is extremely crucial for the club to keep him at a time where the squad is maturing and challenging for the title. Not to mention it is imperative they are not forced to sell a star man to a rival.

The Gunners are highly dependent on the forward and his teammate Mesut Ozil with the latter also pondering his decision to commit to the North London club.
