AC Milan Interested In Signing Jack Wilshere

AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Jack Wilshere next summer, according to reports in the country. The Italian giants could face competition for the midfielder, with AS Roma also reportedly looking at Wilshere (via Corriere Dello Sport).

Most Arsenal fans assumed that Jack Wilshere would be a part of the team for years to come so it’s strange to see the midfielder linked with a move away from the Emirates. Wilshere has already said that his options are open for the future and it’s not certain that he will stay at Arsenal.

The midfielder will spend this season on loan at Bournemouth before returning to North London in the summer. Wilshere’s contract expires the following summer and while Arsene Wenger has said that he would like to offer the 24-year-old a new deal, there has been no indication when that will happen.

The Gunners are spoilt for choice in the centre of midfield right now. Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla continue to impress, and then Arsene Wenger can pick from Mohamed Elneny, Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey in the centre of the park. It’s difficult to see Jack Wilshere getting much game time in this team. Admittedly, Santi Cazorla will be 32 next summer but he can still be replaced by a number of players.

Corriere Dello Sport is the Italian publication linking Wilshere with a move to the country. The article states that AC Milan are interested in bringing the midfielder in next summer when his loan at Bournemouth expires. It does not say how likely this transfer is to happen but the article does state that AS Roma are also looking at the midfielder.

Wilshere will be 25 next summer, and if he’s not going to play at Arsenal then he can hardly be blamed for wanting to move elsewhere. It’s strange to think of the midfielder playing anywhere other than the Emirates but given the current situation, it’s difficult to see any other scenario.
