Lucas Perez Announces He Will Return Early From Ankle Injury

Lucas Perez has said that he is on course to return ahead of schedule after his injury. The forward has returned to former club Deportivo La Coruna to help his injury recuperation and it seems that he is progressing well.

The Arsenal Injury Crisis is an event as regular as clockwork and it seems to have struck the club right before a massive set of fixtures. Hector Bellerin and Alexis Sanchez joined an already-lengthy list of players on the sidelines but there could be some good news on that front.

Lucas Perez has been out of action since he sustained an ankle injury in the 2-0 victory over Reading in the EFL Cup last month. It was expected that he wouldn’t return until mid-December but the 28-year-old tweeted that he is ahead of schedule.

The tweet was accompanied by a video of Perez in training and the Spaniard looks to be in good shape. He was shown back on the training pitch and engaging in some light jogging and agility work around some cones. He was hardly going at top speed but the fact that he is able to move on the ankle already is good news.

With matches against Manchester United and PSG coming up, Lucas Perez’s early return is great news for Arsenal fans. The injuries to Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck mean that Olivier Giroud is now the only fit striker at the club. Hopefully Lucas can return early and really start showing people what he can do in an Arsenal shirt.
