Harry Kane salvaged a point for Tottenham in the North London derby - and left Mauricio Pochettino smiling.
Pochettino insists Tottenham have reason to be happy at still being in the title race after coming out of the other side of a slump in form after seven games without a win.
Fit-again Kane was put straight into the starting line-up after two months out with an ankle injury and stepped up to score a 51st minute penalty.
Tottenham boss Pochettino said: “If you have bad moments, as we have had this month, and you are still unbeaten... all I can do is smile. I'm happy.
“Many small problems, but now we have two weeks to recover the players. Competing in the Champions League and Premier League, two of the toughest competitions in the world, you need all the squad fit.
“We have suffered some issues, so maybe we can't rotate in the way we want to give freshness and put the players in their best condition, so we have to use the same players.
“But I'm very happy. Very happy with the way we finished now. The feeling is fantastic.
“I think we showed a strong performance, the whole team. I think it was a very competitive game, very good to watch. I am very happy and pleased with the performance.”
Pochettino also denied it was a gamble to start Kane and says his return can help revive their form.
“We are professional about that. We are not amateur. If we take a decision like that, we know it's not a gamble. We assess it every day,” said Pochettino.
“Harry Kane had been working the last few weeks very hard on the training ground. When you decide to pick him, it's because you believe he can do well.
“He missed 10 games in those few months, and he's our main striker and last season's top scorer in the Premier League, for us and everyone. So losing him was difficult.”
Pochettino also laughed off questions about Tottenham using a back three in defence and seemed annoyed when asked if it was because Antonio Conte has used the formation at Chelsea.
He added: “Chelsea? Chelsea, when they played here, started with a back four and after 3-0 down they changed to a three.
"If you remember too, last season at Watford, we played on 28 December with three centre-backs, as we played today.
“Because Chelsea won 5-0 yesterday, it doesn't mean they discovered the system. It's a good system to use depending on the players. But we don't play like Chelsea.
“We play with two strikers and one behind. The teams can play different or similar systems, but nobody owns a system like the one we played today.”
