News has broken in the last hour or so that Alexis Sanchez has been sent for tests on an injury. The 27-year-old was on international duty but his time with the team had to be cut short.
Well it’s hardly ideal news. Arsenal fans have been dreading November and it seems that the curse has struck again. The Chilean Soccer Federation confirmed the news that the player had undergone a ‘low-grade muscle injury.’ Very little is known right now with the potential layoff date ranging from two weeks to three months depending on the severity of the injury.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news. Spoilers: not very well.
There was the initial panic:

Intl break takes its first #Arsenal victim. Anyone think Olivier Giroud is secretively smiling somewhere at Alexis Sanchez calf injury?

Opposing fans were typically sympathetic…

But then news started to break that the injury wasn’t as bad as first feared
The good news for Chile and Arsenal fans is Sanchez only has a minor muscle complaint and will play next week against Uruguay.

Chile's World Cup hopes hanging by a thread and so is the manager's job. Team and player will be desperate for him to play.

Alexis Sanchez….what a man.
Pulled a calf muscle…….ran if off.
Back fit again. Elite physicality.— Dinklage (@Dinklage_Afc) November 8, 2016
Whispers that he could be available for Uruguay fixture. Would be stupid to let him play if true.
