Ozil’s Goal Was A ‘Pure Football Orgasm’, Says Cantona

Eric Cantona has admitted he is a big fan of Mesut Ozil’s 87th minute winner against Ludogorets in midweek, describing the strike as a “pure __football orgasm”.

Arsenal looked to heading for defeat in Bulgaria having fallen 2-0 down but recovered to level the match through goals by Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud.

Ozil then ensured all three points for the Gunners late on with a superb solo goal that has received adulation from throughout the __football world.

The Germany international flicked the ball over the goalkeeper before leaving two defenders trailing in his wake as he slotted the ball into the empty net.

Now Cantona, who knows a thing or two about scoring spectacular goals, has hailed Ozil’s genius and revealed the effect it had on him in a video made by Eurosport.

“The goal by Ozil for Arsenal in the Champions League was like a pure football orgasm,” said Cantona.

“It sent shivers down my spine: a lob over the keeper, a swing of the hips Shakira-style, hips don’t lie and a gentle ball in the corner of the net. Sometimes football truly is an art.”

Manager Arsene Wenger joked after the game that he thought Ozil had taken too long to score while Aaron Ramsey revealed he had been screaming “shoot shoot” at his team-mate before he slotted home.

However, not everyone is such a fan with former defender Martin Keon insisting that Thierry Henry has scored better Champions League goals for Arsenal.
