5 reasons Arsenal will beat West Ham Utd

Being overly optimistic recently has worked wonders recently so why stop now huh? The Gunners are on a nice run domestically, they’ve now won seven home league matches on the trot and have not managed eight or more since 2005 (13 win streak).

Sam Allardyce’s men will be no pushover. They’ve scored the most headed goals in the league this season, and we all know Arsenal are susceptible to the odd aerial situation. So we need a strong performance not just from our goalkeeper and defenders like at Upton Park, but also from Olivier Giroud and our midfielders helping out our backline.

Here’s five reasons why we’ve got this one in the bag:

The Gunners have not lost once to West Ham United in the last 13 Barclays Premier League meetings, and Arsene Wenger’s men have won the past eight in a row (W11 D2 L0). Consistent.

Arsenal have not lost in their last 12 Premier League London derbies at the Emirates. In contrast, the Hammers have won just one of their last seven local derbies away from home. Solid.

3. Return of the ‘Cott?

Olivier Giroud also seems to enjoy playing West Ham and has scored four times in as many Premier League appearances against the East Londoners. Factor in that the Frenchman has netted eight goals in his last 10 Premier League starts, the big man up front can deliver again and build up his confidence ahead of the trip to Monaco. Lethal.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has never won a single visit to Arsenal in the Premier League, losing seven and drawing three of his 10. Struggler.

Did you know the Hammers have scored the first goal in four of the last five Premier League meetings with Arsenal? However Arsenal have been the ‘Comeback-Kings’ and have won on each occasion.
