Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has stated that he believes Arsene Wenger can deliver a memorable performance on Tuesday night against Monaco.
As we aim to overturn a 3-1 deficit away from home, Henry suggested that we can take heart from how PSG and Schalke performed away from home in the Champions League last week.
No team has ever achieved what we we’ll attempt to do in midweek, with the task even greater given that we’re facing the best defensive performers in the competition.
“PSG stunned Chelsea while Schalke gave Real Madrid a fright with their away win. I believe Arsenal can do the same at Monaco on Tuesday,” Henry said in .
“People will say I’m biased, I know, but despite trailing 3-1 from the first leg, my former club can produce a big result in the big game.
“It won’t be easy of course. Yet with the right attitude and commitment, Arsene Wenger’s team can deliver a performance they will never, ever forget.”
Henry was part of an Arsenal side which produced some sensational performances away from home in Europe against all the odds and we may need the spirit of that night in the San Siro to achieve the unthinkable.
We will need a faultless performance where many aspects must go in our favour, but an early goal similar to Olivier Giroud’s at the Allianz Arena in 2013 could make things interesting.
