Arsene Wenger has confirmed in his pre-West Ham press conference that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be out of action for around four weeks with a hamstring injury.

Chamberlain picked up the issue against Manchester United in our FA Cup FA Cup quarterfinal win.
“It’s frustrating for him but he’s played more games this season than before,” said Wenger. “He’s shown his importance.”

From an Arsenal point of view, it could be said the issue has come at the best possible time for Chamberlain with international friendlies disrupting the number of Arsenal games being played this month.
The problem could also mean he isn’t forced to star in at least two England games; a Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and a friendly with Italy.
For Arsenal, Chamberlain could still miss games against West Ham, Monaco and Newcastle United.
However, he will no doubt be fighting to get fit for our game with Liverpool at the Emirates on 4th April.

Describing the problem, Wenger said it was a “classic hamstring” injury, is that an attempt at gallows humour from Arsene?
Or is it simply that the weekly occurrence of hamstring problems for our players is now so regular that it could be considered a classic?
