Arsenal Given Huge Boost As Key Stars Fit To Face Tottenham

Arsenal have been given a huge boost ahead of Sunday’s north London derby with Tottenham with reports claiming four injured stars will be fit to face Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Theo Walcott, Hector Bellerin, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal all missed the Champions League trip to Bulgaria to face Ludogorets due to injury.

The Daily Star report that all four players have returned to fitness and are expected to play at the Emirates Stadium.

Bellerin picked up a knock in training, while Walcott has been struggling with a hamstring injury, Cazorla with an Achilles problem and Monreal has a thigh strain.

Arsenal managed to secure victory without the quartet although they were given an almighty scare against Ludogorets who took a 2-0 lead after just 15 minutes.

The Gunners hit back through Granit Xhaka and Olivier Giroud before Mesut Ozil scored a glorious late winner to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.

Although the Gunners will be pleased with the win they will be relieved to see their injured stars return, particularly Bellerin and Monreal who were sorely missed in defence with Carl Jenkinson and Kieran Gibbs failing to impress in their absence.

While Giroud’s return has helped the team, the France international has three goals in his last two games, Cazorla’s creativity has been sored missed, particularly in the 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough.

Indeed the Spaniard could prove key against Tottenham who have the Premier League’s meanest defence, having conceded just five goals in 10 games.

Likewise the return of Walcott, who remains the club’s joint top goalscorer alongside Alexis Sanchez with eight goals, will also give the Gunners a boost as they look to inflict Tottenham’s’ first league defeat of the season.
