Martin Keown backs Arsenal to win North London derby but warns Gunners can't take Tottenham lightly

Martin Keown has backed Arsenal to claim bragging rights in Sunday's North London derby.

Mauricio Pochettino's men can move level with their rivals when the Gunners and Tottenham face off at the Emirates on Sunday.

Spurs slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Bayer Levekusen at Wembley on Wednesday night to leave their Champions League hopes hanging by a thread.

But the Gunners have made a storming start to the season and haven't lost since the opening day of the campaign.

Former Arsenal defender Keown believes Arsene Wenger's side are favourites but warned they can't afford to underestimate their rivals.

Keown told Mail Online : "They are in such a strong position at the moment and I'd back them to win 2-0, with goals from Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

"Tottenham have scored just two goals in their last five games and are without a win in six in all competitions. It would be wrong of Arsenal to underestimate Tottenham, though, especially with the extra effort a derby can bring.

Dele Alli looks down in the dumps at Wembley

"Dele Alli is an outstanding footballer with a great career ahead of him. He is probably Tottenham's most dangerous player. Arsenal must also be wary of the threat Kyle Walker possesses down the right.

"Mousa Dembele going off injured was a huge blow given his importance to the team, though. It looked like Victor Wanyama missed having the Belgian alongside him.

Mauricio Pochettino must rally his troops

"I've been very impressed with what Mauricio Pochettino has done at White Hart Lane.

"After years of not really being able to compete with Arsenal in terms of Champions League qualification, he has taken them back into the big four.

"It seems like Pochettino is here to stay and he'll make sure this is always a tough fixture."
